Outer Spaces’ Cara Beth Satalino debuts new album “Little Green” on Worried Songs :: 05/03

Born in Bennington, VT, Satalino was brought up in a creative household that was influenced by music at a very early age. Her father, an accomplished musician himself, always kept instruments around their home like the guitar, banjo and mandolin. Though she leaned more into the indie side of music, it wasn’t until much later that the musician’s career would see these influences as they quickly rose to the surface. Satalino spent nearly the better part of two decades in Baltimore, Maryland occupying a rather strenuous reality that ultimately takes its toll on one’s mind, heart and soul to say the least. Being a songwriter and active musician in a scene isn’t for the faint of heart, but Satalino has pushed through the cerebral vegetation while participating in a culture that is starved in some eternity of critical theory, status quo and radical conveniences. Her band Outer Spaces, featuring members Ben Salie, her partner Chester Gwazda and Rob Dowler, would go on to release a number of albums and EPs such as “Garbage Beach”, “Gazing Globe” and “A Shedding Snake” on labels Western Vinyl, Matador and Saddle Creek before relocating to New Jersey where the couple were quickly faced with the historical uncertainties of the 2020 pandemic, a frightening health diagnosis and being thrown into parenthood. Artists need no further challenges, but without pressure there is no diamond and Satalino’s new LP “Little Green” is just that. A product of shimmering hope in some silverly lake someplace well hidden and peculiar. Where trees breath into stressed lungs worn in our bodies like organ ornaments, hanging from heights beyond our represented figure.

A very revealing portrait of a musician’s life, “Little Green” is a splendid collection of cherished memories and sincere gestures of unique spells casted into a friendly wind. With tracks such as the album’s first single entitled, “Dandelion Weed” and the quality opener, “Warmth of a Golden Sun”, Satalino explores the organic territories of what takes to be human in sometimes inhumane world. Debuting on the UK based label, Worried Songs, “Little Green” will prior open summer’s ancient hinges with its arrival date in early May with US distributions from Forced Exposure to help bring Satalino’s most compelling work to a wider audience.
